A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux.

The Skylette Mage is still in development, so this is still only a demo. If you're interested in seeing more to come, please check back for development updates.

Keep in mind that this visual novel is set in the same universe as our other work The Violette Mage and The Scarlette Mage (which are still in progress and will be getting more updates). But, this is a standalone story that is set in a different setting, so the other ones will not be required to read in order to also enjoy this story.

Note: We tried doing something different this time. The usual main writer Keiryth was in charge of shading the character art and most of the BGs (at least for the Jam version so far), but the character designer/artist is still Runayo. Runayo had a story idea for The Skylette Mage, so she'll be the lead writer for this project in particular. But for the other two work released before, Keiryth is still the writer.

Story Summary:

In the cold of a long winter Skylette trudges up the slopes of Aetherpeak during a heavy snowfall near her former home village, Mistyhollow.

However, the journey to her destination also stirs up long-repressed memories of her days living in the Church's orphanage and her childhood friend, Blair—along with a particular nun named Sister Aryiah who she always thought of as family. Plus, she sees vague glimpses of the nearby sunflower-covered meadows that glows so bright it catches the sunlight, but in winter all that remains are desolate fields.

Eventually when Skylette finally reaches a certain point up the mountain… it's there, she finds a glowing oval object that quickly attracts her attention. But she also runs into two very different strangers… one who is a fiery-spirited thief, and the other who is an ice phoenix.

What awaits Skylette in this dreary little village of Mistyhollow which is tucked beneath the mountains?

Of course, there is also signs of something dark and sinister brewing somewhere… that may turn into a huge storm, perhaps… but not everyone can survive its wrath.

And regrettably… Skylette gets stuck in the crossfires of the situation. But she's still desperately wishing to ignore it all—to avoid the cold future rushing towards her—since Skylette is always dreaming of open and free skies.

FEATURES:

• Original Character Art.
• Custom hand-painted backgrounds with a fantasy theme.
• 7,099+ words (in the Demo Version, but the Full Version will be much longer).
• Estimated Playtime: Around 1/2-1 hour or more (depending on reading speed).

Features that are still missing in the Demo:

Character Sprites for the other characters (ATM, it's just silhouettes… since the artist wasn't able to finish drawing them all, due to the time constraints of the game jam).

Child Sprite for the MC, Skylette and Blair, which is used in flashbacks.
